Announcing the new www.amigosdeanimales.com website!
Welcome to the new Amigos de Animales of Barra de Potosí website. We have worked hard to make this site an all-in-one repository of all things Amigos de Animales and we hope you enjoy browsing through all the information it contains.
Besides the website, we have been busy working to make our organization “official” and to that end, at the end of 2017 we became British Columbia, Canada registered non-profit Society. This was an important step for us in our goal of making Amigos de Animales a self-sufficient, 100% donor supported organization.
To reach that goal of self-sufficiency, WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT! It’s really as simple as that. Our reality is that we are hanging on by a thread financially and even that description is generous. Currently, in most months, the majority of our operating funds come directly from the pockets of Stasya & Mike and to a lesser extent, other volunteers in the organization. We are extremely grateful for any donations we receive but in most months, only a fraction of our operating expenses are covered by supporter donations.
To reach self-sufficiency, we are reaching out to corporations that might be able to help with donations of food, medication, and other supplies. We searching for and applying for grants from philanthropic organizations that might help a society like ours. We launched this website so that we can reach the non-Facebook folks out there that might not otherwise know about us.
We have also created some different ways for individual supporters to help us reach self-sufficiency. We are now offering Memberships in Amigos de Animales where your donation will be rewarded with a small gift of appreciation and recognition on our website and Facebook page. We have also created Service Vacation Packages where you can come visit us and be directly involved in the day-to-day activities of Amigos de Animales while also enjoying all that our little corner of the Costa Grande has to offer.
How about becoming a Clinic Sponsor where we name an upcoming clinic after you (or someone you designate) and have the opportunity to work with us through the clinic from setup to the after-clinic celebration.
Of course, we are always happy to take a one-time donation at any level that you feel comfortable giving. We are in need of some specific supplies too if you or someone you know plan to travel here and are able to transport the supplies.
If you need to reach us, you can use our new email address which is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your support! Let’s make sure Amigos survives and thrives in 2018 and beyond. Our Animales need us.
